Overview
If you are going walking or rock climbing this coming spring and you would like your PDA with you, you need a case that will withstand small bumps, dirt, fluff, and a fair amount of dampness whilst still being accessible. The case that answers this challenge is the Basecamp PDA Case by Grinder Gear.
This tough case offers a unique "Flipcap" cover that delivers a layer of defense while maintaining a one-hand opening system. Instead of snaps or magnets to close the outer cover, it uses a "stretch to fit" design with a loop and hook. The hook part of the system is made of a flexible rubber type material and almost nearly unbreakable. The Outer case is made with 5/8" webbing, Cordura TM and EPV sandwiched foam, this bag is built to take punishment. This material also makes it water resistant altho not waterproof.
Internally, the case provides protection for your PDA. It is even fleece lined to protect your screen! It is a soft case and so not crush proof. I did do a couple of "drop tests" (onto a soft surface) with the case to prove that the protection worked and every time, not a scratch! :-)
The thing i also like about the case is that it comes in different colours, which i know will sound weird to some people. The basecamp is available in: blue, black, forest, or camouflage.
The Basecamp has a hinged pocket on the outside which credit cards and memory cards fit easily. There is also a mesh pocket with shockcord, in which mobiles and sunglasses fit nicely. The back of the bag has webbing belt loops along with a clip and short handle in case you would like to attach it to someone or something.
Approximate Outside Dimensions: 4.3" W x 6.3" H x 2" D. Fits: Axim, Palm Vx, Handspring Visor, Visor Edge, etc.....
